Design. Contentment is a large (5000 + sq/ft) multi level home with a distinctive design and an even more unique (and most adorable) décor. You park on the upper level and enter into a tiled hallway. The white and yellow bedrooms and a half bath are off the hallway which leads into the impressive great room. The great room is true to its name, with more than 1000 sq/ft of living, dining, kitchen and laundry area. Off the great room on the west end of the house is the blue master bedroom
On the south side of the great room, a 24 foot long, 8 foot high wall of screened sliding glass doors open to fabulous views and a covered deck with cushioned furniture. Stairs lead from the upper deck to a smaller mid level deck, then to the spacious pool deck with its 24’ x 19’ infinity edge pool, wet bar, refrigerator and bath. The charming cabana (pool house) is on the west end of the pool deck. The candy striped bedroom is on the upper (pool deck) level, while exterior stairs lead to the lower bedroom/media room. The Living Room. The heart of the interior living area is a 50” high definition surround sound satellite TV/DVD, with an AM/FM receiver plus CD player. The system plays through 10 Bose speakers (plus 2 more in the kitchen) and there is an I Pod connector. This area seats 8-10 on cushioned furniture and offers great views – of the blue/blue water and sky, or the TV.

The interior dining area has a mahogany table that seats 6 as shown here, or with the extensions pulled out, it seats 10. There are also smaller tables on the upper deck, mid deck and pool deck.

This Kitchen is large, very well equipped and colorfully tiled with an island bar that seats five. It includes a 6-burner gas stove with hood and oven, double sinks and dishwashers, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, refrigerated wine rack and a set of speakers that connect into the stereo system.

Bedrooms. Although each of the bedroom and attached private baths has a different décor, they are all very comfortable and attractive, in keeping with the overall style of this home.
The White Room is off the hallway on the upper level of the main house. It is 230 sq/ft with a king 4 poster mahogany bed, A/C and a tiled bath and shower.

The Yellow Room has lovely water views and is across the hall from the White Room. It is 300 sq/ft with a king bed, A/C, a tiled bath and shower and a walk in closet. The attached sitting room has a queen sofa bed with a comfortable 10” mattress, which makes this is an excellent room for parents with young children.

The Blue Room (the master bedroom) also has water views and is on the west end of the main house. This spacious 500 sq/ft bedroom has a king bed, A/C, a tiled bath with inside and outside showers, a walk in closet, a 32” satellite TV/DVD in an armoire, and a private tiled deck. This bedroom also has a lovely sitting room with a pull out full sofa bed.

The cabana – upper level. This adorable candy stripped bedroom is off the pool deck. It is 210 sq/ft with a king bed, A/C, Bose Wave radio, and a tiled bath that will help you wake up in the morning. The shower has arched glass doors that open to an outside shower.

The cabana – lower level. This 210 sq/ft room is currently (11/15/06) a media room with a 65” satellite TV/DVD. This room has a separate drive/entrance and can also be accessed by exterior stairs from the pool deck. The plans call for this room to be converted to a 5th bedroom. The critical question (for guys who love sports) is: does the 65” TV stay with the bedroom?

Caribbean Villa Comments Contentment is the perfect name for this villa, for it would be hard to find a villa on St. John that radiates as much happiness and warmth as does this very unique home. The colors, furnishings, wallhangings – they all have an uplifting and joyful feeling that gives this home a delightful ambiance. Not even a grinch could have a sour day in this cheerful environment.
